What is .xwm?

The .xwm file extension is used for audio files that contain soundtracks for video games developed for the Microsoft Windows operating system. They are usually stored in a compressed format, utilizing lossless or lossy audio compression methods.

The xwm format was initially developed by Bethesda Softworks for their game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. However, it has since become widely adopted and used by other game developers such as Bioware, Epic Games, and Valve Corporation.

.xwm files can be played using various media players, including VLC Media Player, Windows Media Player, and Winamp. They can also be converted to other audio formats using conversion software such as Audacity or XWM converter.
