What is 4a-fe?

The 4A-FE is a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine produced by Toyota from 1987 to 1998. It was commonly used in the Corolla, Celica, and other small Toyota vehicles. The engine had an iron block and aluminum cylinder head. It featured dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, producing up to 115 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque. The engine was known for its reliability and fuel efficiency, with a fuel economy rating of up to 30 mpg on the highway. The 4A-FE was replaced by the 1ZZ-FE engine in 1998.
