What is acrasias?

Akrasia is the state of acting against one's better judgment or giving in to one's impulses. It is a term used in philosophy and psychology to describe the phenomenon of knowing what one ought to do but failing to do it. Akrasia is usually associated with negative behaviors such as procrastination, addiction, and overeating. It is often considered an irrational or illogical condition, as the person engaging in akratic behavior is aware that their actions are contrary to their best interests, yet continues to behave in that way. The Greek philosopher Aristotle wrote extensively about akrasia and the struggle between reason and desire. The concept of akrasia has been explored by many other philosophers, including Plato, Socrates, and Marcus Aurelius.
