What is adamsbridge?

Adams Bridge, also known as Rama Setu, is a chain of limestone shoals and sandbanks that connects India and Sri Lanka. It is approximately 50 kilometers long and is believed to have been formed by a natural process about 5000 years ago. According to Hindu mythology, it is the bridge built by Lord Rama and his army to cross the sea to reach Lanka to rescue his wife Sita, who was abducted by the demon king Ravana.

The existence of Adams Bridge has been a subject of debate among scientists, historians, and archaeologists. Some believe that it is a natural formation, while others argue that it is a man-made structure, citing satellite images that show a straight line connecting India and Sri Lanka.

In recent times, Adams Bridge has become a controversial issue due to a proposed project by the Indian government to construct a shipping canal through it. Environmentalists and religious groups have opposed the project, citing concerns about the ecological impact and the potential damage to the cultural and religious significance of the bridge.
