What is aethos?

Aethos, often confused with ethos, is a less common term related to the arts and aesthetics. While ethos refers to the credibility or character of a speaker or source, aethos focuses on the aesthetic qualities and underlying sensibilities within a work of art or culture. It emphasizes the emotional and sensory experiences elicited by art, architecture, or other creative expressions. It explores the feeling, mood, and atmosphere that a particular work evokes in the observer. Unlike ethos, aethos isn't about persuasive power, but about the inherent beauty, emotion, or feeling that the work conveys.
