What is aircushion?

An air cushion, also known as an air pillow or pneumatic cushion, is an inflatable device that is designed to reduce vibration and shock, protect a person or equipment from damage, or provide a comfortable seating or sleeping surface.

Air cushions are commonly used in the medical industry to prevent pressure sores caused by extended periods of immobility, as well as in transportation industries to absorb shocks and vibrations during travel. Additionally, they can be used in heavy equipment and industrial settings to cushion loads and prevent damage during transit.

The technology behind air cushions involves the use of compressed air or gas to inflate a flexible, air-tight envelope made of PVC, nylon or other materials. They can be manually inflated using a hand pump or automatically inflated with the use of an electric pump.

Air cushions can be found in a variety of shapes and sizes including seat cushions, mattress toppers, car seat inserts, and industrial load cushions. They are lightweight, portable, and easy to store, making them practical for a variety of different situations.
