Al Gore was the Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, during President Bill Clinton's two terms in office. Gore was also the Democratic Party's nominee for President in 2000, when he lost the election to George W. Bush in a controversial election where the results were disputed and eventually determined by the U.S. Supreme Court.
In addition to his political career, Gore has been an influential advocate for addressing climate change and environmental awareness. He has written several books on the topic, including "An Inconvenient Truth," which was later turned into a documentary film that won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
Gore also co-founded the climate change advocacy organization, The Climate Reality Project, and serves as its chairman. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his efforts to raise awareness of climate change and promote action to address it.
