What is alumnus?

An alumnus (singular)/alumni (plural) is a graduate or former student of a school, college, or university. The term is often used to refer to someone who has completed a degree or program at an institution and has since moved on to pursue a career or other endeavors. Alumnus/alumni are often celebrated by their alma mater as they represent the legacy and success of the institution. Universities and colleges often maintain active networks of alumni to keep them engaged and connected with their former institution and fellow alumni. Many alumni associations provide a range of benefits, such as continuing education opportunities, career services, and social events.
