Despite the difficult conditions, the desert is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including desert foxes, gazelles, and a range of birds. An-Nafud is also home to a number of important archaeological sites, including several pre-Islamic tombs and ruins of old towns and cities. The region is considered a popular destination for tourists, who are attracted by its unique scenery and cultural heritage.
