AN148 is a regional jet aircraft developed by the Antonov Design Bureau in Ukraine. It is designed for short and medium-range flights and is capable of carrying up to 89 passengers. Its first flight took place in 2004, but the production of this aircraft was later suspended in 2014 due to political instability in Ukraine.
The AN148 has a range of up to 3,500 km and can reach a maximum cruising speed of 820 km/h. It is equipped with two turbofan engines and has a modern avionics suite, including a digital flight management system and a fly-by-wire flight control system.
The aircraft has been popular among several regional airlines in different parts of the world, particularly in Russia and Ukraine. It has proven to be reliable and economical, with low fuel consumption and maintenance costs.
In recent years, there have been discussions of restarting AN148 production due to demand from various regional airlines. However, it remains to be seen if the project will be revived.
