What is androgenous?

Androgyny refers to the combination of characteristics or traits typically associated with both males and females. An androgynous person may appear or behave in a way that is not clearly masculine or feminine but a mix of both. Androgyny is often associated with the blending or blurring of gender boundaries and can be expressed in fashion, behavior, and identity. Androgynous individuals can identify as different gender identities and sexual orientations. The term is also used to describe a physical condition in which an individual presents both male and female sexual characteristics.
