What is assesments?

Assessments are techniques or tools used to evaluate or measure a person's knowledge, abilities, skills or performance. These evaluations are used for various purposes such as making educational or employment decisions, identifying strengths and weaknesses, measuring progress, or improving performance.

There are various types of assessments such as:

  1. Norm-referenced tests - These tests are used to rank a person's performance in comparison to a group of peers.

  2. Criterion-referenced tests - These tests are used to determine whether someone has achieved a specific level of knowledge or skill.

  3. Performance assessments - These assessments measure a person's ability to apply their knowledge or skills in real-world situations.

  4. Self-assessments - These assessments are used to evaluate a person's own performance and to identify areas for improvement.

Assessments can be used in many different settings, including education, healthcare, marketing, and more. They are often used to identify problems and improve outcomes, and can be an important tool in making decisions at both the individual and organizational level.
