What is avoines?

Avoines is a commune (or municipality) in the Loire region of central western France. It is located in the department of Sarthe and is part of the Pays de la Loire region. The town's territory covers an area of 14.4 km² and is situated at an altitude of 72 meters. The population of Avoines was around 1,000 in 2019. The area around Avoines is mostly agricultural, with fields of wheat, corn, and sunflowers. The town has a small church, a school, and a few shops. It is located about 10 km from the city of Le Mans, which is known for its famous 24-hour car race. The town of Avoines is also close to the vineyards of the Loire Valley, which produce some of France's most well-known wines, such as Muscadet and Chinon.
