What is azurophile?

Azurophile is a type of white blood cell known as a neutrophil which contains granules that are rich in the enzyme myeloperoxidase (MPO). MPO is involved in the destruction of microorganisms and plays a critical role in the innate immune response against bacteria and fungi.
