Baiterek is a major national symbol of Kazakhstan and the name of a futuristic tower located in Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan. The name "Baiterek" means "tall poplar tree" in Kazakh and represents a traditional Kazakh folk tale about a giant bird called Samruk who laid her egg at the top of a tall poplar tree. The tower is approximately 105 meters high and features a viewing platform at the top that provides panoramic views of the city. The tower also contains an observation deck, a restaurant, and a ballroom, making it a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The building was designed by the British architect, Sir Norman Foster, and was completed in 2010 as part of the Kazakh government's plan to transform Astana into a modern and vibrant capital city.
