What is balcutha?

Balcutha is a historic sailing ship, built in 1886 in Scotland. It was used primarily for the transportation of wool from Australia to Europe, rounding Cape Horn, the southernmost tip of South America, several times. After its commercial days, it was used as a floating warehouse and training vessel until it was rescued from destruction in 1954. Since then, it has been restored and is currently a National Historic Landmark and museum ship located in San Francisco, California. It is open to the public for tours and special events.
