What is bedbound?

Bedbound refers to a person who is confined to a bed due to an illness, injury, disability, or other medical conditions. They are unable to get up and walk around, and may require assistance with daily activities such as eating, bathing, and using the restroom. Being bedbound can lead to a number of physical complications including muscle weakness, decreased circulation, pressure sores, and respiratory problems. Psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, and social isolation can also arise due to prolonged bedrest. Proper care, including frequent position changes, exercise, and maintaining good hygiene, is important for managing the health of individuals who are bedbound.
