What is bifertenstock?

Bifertenstock is a mountain in the Glarus Alps in Switzerland, with an elevation of 3,418 meters (11,214 feet). It is situated in the Canton of Glarus, near the border with Uri and Graubünden. Bifertenstock is one of the highest peaks in the Glarus Alps and is known for its challenging climbing routes. The mountain was first climbed in 1873 by A. Wäber, A. Zimmerman, and J. Wäber. The ascent to the summit can be made from the Biferten hut, which is located at an elevation of 2,632 meters (8,635 feet), or from the Tierfehd valley via the Planura hut. The views from the summit are stunning, with panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Bifertenstock is a popular destination for mountaineers, climbers, and hikers.
