What is blindschleiche?

Blindschleiche, also known as the slow worm or Anguis fragilis, is a lizard-like reptile found in parts of Europe and Asia. Despite its name, the blindschleiche is not a snake and has legs, although they are very small and not visible from the outside. It is a non-venomous and harmless animal that feeds on insects, snails, and slugs. Blindschleiche has a long and cylindrical body that can range in color from brown to grey with a smooth and shiny appearance. It is also unusual in that it is able to break off its tail when threatened and then regrow it later. Blindschleiche is a protected species in some areas due to habitat destruction and pollution.
