What is borsuki?

Borsuki is the plural form of the Polish word bóbr, which means beaver. These semi-aquatic rodents are native to Poland and can be found in various habitats, from forests to wetlands and rivers. Beavers are considered ecosystem engineers, as they create dams and lodges that can alter the landscape and water systems. In Poland, beavers are protected and have made a significant comeback in recent years after being hunted to near-extinction in the past. There are now an estimated 80,000 beavers in Poland, making it one of the largest populations in Europe. Beavers are also known for their valuable fur, which has been used for clothing and accessories for centuries.
