What is bosnjak?

Bosnjak is a term used to refer to Bosniak people, who are an ethnic group native to Bosnia and Herzegovina and surrounding areas. They are mainly Muslim, but there are also Bosniaks who practice Roman Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity.

Historically, Bosniaks have faced discrimination and violent conflict with other ethnic groups in the region, particularly during the Bosnian War in the 1990s. Despite this, Bosniaks have made significant contributions to the culture and history of the region, particularly in areas such as literature, art, and music.

Today, Bosniaks make up the largest ethnic group in Bosnia and Herzegovina, comprising around 50% of the population. They also have significant populations in neighboring countries such as Serbia, Montenegro, and Croatia.
