What is botellita?

Botellita is a Mexican rock band that was formed in 1983 in Mexico City. The founding members include Armando Vega-Gil, Francisco Barrios "El Mastuerzo" and Sergio Arau. The band was known for their unique blend of rock music with traditional Mexican influences, as well as their humorous and socially conscious lyrics.

Botellita gained popularity with songs such as "Alármala de Tos", "La Venganza del Cuchillo", and "Abuelita de Batman". They also became well known for their energetic and entertaining live performances.

During their career, Botellita released several albums including "Viva! Zapata", "Naco es Chido", and "¿Por qué no se van?". They also participated in various collaborations and soundtracks.

Sadly, Armando Vega-Gil, one of the founding members, passed away in 2019. Despite their loss, the legacy of Botellita lives on through their music and influence on Mexican rock.
