What is buckbuck?

Buckbuck, also known as "Sipa" or "Chinese jump rope," is a traditional children's game that originated in the Philippines. The game is typically played with a long elastic band, usually around six feet long, tied in a loop. The players engage in a series of jumping and balancing moves while chanting various rhymes or songs.

In the game, three players stand in a line with the band looped around their ankles. The fourth player then tries to jump over the band in a series of moves, accompanied by specific chants. The difficulty level of the game increases with each round, as the height and complexity of the jumps and stunts increase.

Buckbuck is a popular game in many countries and cultures, including China, Indonesia, and India. The game is not only a fun activity for children, but it also promotes physical fitness, coordination, and agility. Buckbuck competitions and performances are also held in some events and festivals worldwide.
