What is burtonization?

Burtonization is a process of infusing water with ozone gas in order to disinfect it. The name comes from the scientist who first discovered the process, Dr. William Burton. The method involves pumping ozone gas into the water under pressure, which causes the gas to dissolve over some time to form ozone in the water. Ozone is a highly reactive molecule that is effective at killing bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that may be present in the water. It is also known to remove impurities and odors from the water. Burtonization has numerous applications, including municipal water treatment, swimming pool disinfection, and wastewater treatment. It is a safer alternative to chlorine, which can form harmful byproducts when reacting with organic matter in water.
