What is buynaksk?

Buynaksk is a city in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. The city is situated in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, on the banks of the Tschezgatl River. Buynaksk is located about 40 kilometers southeast of the regional capital Makhachkala and has a population of around 70,000 people.

The city is known for its beautiful mountain landscapes, hot springs, and historic architecture. Buynaksk has also been a site of conflict in recent history, as it was the location of a suicide bombing in 1999 during the Chechen insurgency, which killed scores of people.
