What is casterboard?

A casterboard is a type of skateboard that has two separate decks which are connected by a pivoting joint or a torsion bar. The decks can rotate independently of each other, allowing the rider to perform various tricks, turns, and 360-degree spins.

The boards are propelled by twisting the hips and the feet, creating a carving motion that propels the board forward. Casterboards typically have two sets of wheels, one set on each deck, which enables the rider to perform tight turns and maneuvers.

These boards are versatile and can be used for cruising, commuting, or performing tricks and stunts. They are suitable for riders of all levels, ranging from beginners to advanced riders.

Casterboards are also known by various other names, such as waveboards, ripstick, and swerveboards. The boards gained popularity in the early 2000s and have since become a popular alternative to traditional skateboards.
