What is cenipa?

Cenipa stands for Centro de Investigação e Prevenção de Acidentes Aeronáuticos, which translates to the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents in English. It is a Brazilian government agency responsible for investigating aviation accidents and incidents in Brazil. Cenipa works closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Brazil (ANAC) and other national and international aviation organizations to prevent accidents and promote air safety. The agency also provides recommendations for improving aviation safety and training programs for pilots, air traffic controllers, maintenance personnel, and other aviation professionals. Cenipa reports directly to the Brazilian Air Force's Chief of Operational Safety and is part of the national defense system.
