What is chasen?

Chasen's is a restaurant chain that specializes in American cuisine, particularly steak and seafood. The first Chasen's restaurant opened in Beverly Hills, California in 1936 and quickly became a popular destination for Hollywood celebrities, politicians, and other high-profile guests. The chain expanded to include several locations in California and Las Vegas, but the last remaining location in Beverly Hills closed in 1995. Despite its closure, Chasen's remains a legendary restaurant in American culture, immortalized in movies such as "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "The Party." Some of their signature dishes include chili, lobster Newburg and their famous "Hobo Steak."
