What is chocomels?

Chocomels are a Dutch confectionery that is made from chocolate and caramel. They were originally created in the 1930s by a Dutch candy maker who wanted to make a “premium chocolate milk” candy. The name “Chocomel” is a combination of the words chocolate and milk, and it has become one of the most popular candy bars in the Netherlands. Chocomels are similar to a chocolate-covered caramel or toffee bar, and they are available in both a solid bar form and as small, individually wrapped pieces. They are often served alongside freshly brewed coffee or tea as a sweet snack or dessert.
