What is corcas?

Corcas is short for the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, a body that was created by the Moroccan government in 2006. The council serves as an advisory body to the Moroccan government and is tasked with promoting the development of the country's southern provinces, which are commonly referred to as Western Sahara.

Corcas is made up of representatives from various Sahrawi tribes and political groups, including supporters of both Moroccan and Sahrawi independence. The council's mandate is to promote economic and social development in Western Sahara, as well as to help resolve the long-standing dispute over the region's sovereignty. While the council has been criticized by some for failing to represent the views of the Sahrawi people, it has been praised by others for its efforts to promote dialogue and foster cooperation between different groups.
