What is cpfsk?

CPFSK (Continuous Phase Frequency Shift Keying) is a digital modulation technique used in wireless communication systems. It is a variant of the more common FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) and is particularly suited to systems where a constant envelope is desired, such as in satellite communication, mobile radio, and wireless data transmission.

In CPFSK, the frequency of the carrier signal is shifted, but the phase of the signal is also continuously adjusted, resulting in a constant phase difference between consecutive symbols. This results in constant amplitude and phase in the transmitted signal, which helps in reducing inter-symbol interference, improving the spectral efficiency, and reducing errors due to fading.

CPFSK has several advantages over traditional FSK. One of the key advantages is its ability to transmit data at higher data rates with less inter-symbol interference. Additionally, it is less susceptible to errors caused by interference, fading, and distortion.

Some of the common applications of CPFSK include radio communication, digital broadcasting, wireless local area networks, and mobile communication systems.
