What is cucv?

The Chevrolet Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle (CUCV) is a line of military vehicles based on the Chevrolet pickup truck chassis. The CUCV was produced from 1983-1986 for the U.S. military as a replacement for the M880 series of vehicles.

The CUCV was available in several configurations, including the M1008 (pickup truck), M1009 (blazer), M1010 (ambulance), and M1028 (cargo truck). These vehicles were designed for use in a variety of military applications, such as transportation, cargo hauling, and troop transport.

The CUCV was powered by a 6.2-liter diesel engine and featured heavy-duty components designed to withstand the rigors of military use. The vehicles were known for their ruggedness, durability, and reliability in the field.

Although the CUCV was primarily used by the military, some surplus vehicles have made their way into civilian hands and are popular among off-road enthusiasts and collectors. These vehicles are prized for their durability and utilitarian design.
