What is da2pp?

Da2pp is a vaccine for dogs that protects against several highly contagious and potentially deadly diseases. It stands for Distemper, Adenovirus (types 1 and 2), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus.

Distemper is a viral disease that affects a dog's respiratory, gastrointestinal, and central nervous systems. Adenovirus type 1 can cause infectious hepatitis in dogs, while Adenovirus type 2 is associated with kennel cough. Parainfluenza is a respiratory virus that can be a component of kennel cough, and Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially lethal virus that infects a dog's intestines.

The da2pp vaccine is typically started when a puppy is around 6-8 weeks old and requires a series of booster shots every few weeks until the dog is about 16 weeks old. Afterward, the vaccine needs to be given annually to ensure ongoing protection against these diseases.

It is highly recommended that all dogs receive the da2pp vaccine to protect them from these infectious diseases, especially since they are easily transmitted from dog to dog. Regular vaccination helps to prevent outbreaks of these diseases and keeps your dog healthy and protected.
