What is dangal?

Dangal is a 2016 Indian Hindi-language biographical sports drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The film stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, a former wrestler who trains his two daughters, Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, to become world-class wrestlers. The film was loosely based on the real-life story of Phogat and his daughters, who became the first female wrestlers from India to win medals at the Commonwealth Games. Dangal was released in India on 23 December 2016 and received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, and screenplay. The film became the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, surpassing the previous record holder, Khan's own film PK. Dangal also received numerous awards and nominations, including four National Film Awards.
