What is dart-ms?

DART-MS (Direct Analysis in Real Time Mass Spectrometry) is a technique used in the field of mass spectrometry that allows for rapid and sensitive analysis of a broad range of chemical compounds without requiring prior sample preparation.

In DART-MS, the sample is introduced into an ionization region where it is subjected to a stream of ions generated by a corona discharge. The ions cause the sample to undergo ionization and the resulting ions are then directly introduced into the mass spectrometer for analysis.

DART-MS has several advantages over traditional mass spectrometry techniques including faster analysis times, higher sample throughput, and reduced sample preparation requirements. It is commonly used in applications such as drug analysis, food safety, and forensics analysis.
