What is demoiselles?

Demoiselles, also known as damselflies, are insects belonging to the order Odonata. They are related to dragonflies but are generally smaller and more delicate in appearance. They are found all over the world, and are often seen near bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, and rivers. Demoiselles have two pairs of wings that are held over their bodies when at rest, while dragonflies hold their wings out to the sides. They have large, compound eyes that give them excellent vision, and they are also able to fly at high speeds and maneuver quickly in the air. Demoiselles are predators, feeding on smaller insects and even other damselflies. Females lay their eggs in water, either on plants or directly in the water, and the larvae develop in the water before emerging as adult damselflies. There are many different species of demoiselles, each with their own unique colors and patterns.
