Dr. Subramanian Swamy is an Indian economist, politician, and a former Professor of Economics at Harvard University. He was born on September 15, 1939, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Swamy joined the Janata Party in 1977 and later founded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1980. He is known for his controversial statements and being a staunch supporter of Hindutva.
