What is eadgifu?

Eadgifu, also known as Edgiva or Edgifu, was a queen of England in the 10th century. She was the wife of King Edward the Elder, who ruled from 899 to 924. Eadgifu was the mother of two future English kings, Edmund I and Eadred.
