What is egoic?

Egoic refers to the state of being identified with the ego, or the sense of self that is created by one's thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. It is characterized by a constant need to assert oneself, protect oneself, and maintain control over one's life and surroundings. Egoic behavior is often driven by fear, insecurity, and a sense of scarcity or lack, leading to competitiveness, defensiveness, and aggression towards others. It is a hindrance to spiritual growth as it creates a false sense of separation from others and the divine, leading to suffering and conflict in one's personal relationships and society as a whole. The goal of spiritual practice is to move beyond the egoic state and realize one's true nature as interconnected with all beings and divine energy.
