What is elflocks?

Elflocks are knots or tangles that occur in human hair and are attributed to the mischievous nature of elves. According to folklore, elves or fairies would sneak into households at night and braid or tangle the hair of sleeping individuals, just for fun. These tangles were believed to be difficult or impossible to comb out, as they were supposedly tied by magical means.

The term "elflock" can also be used to describe the tangled hair of animals, such as sheep or horses. In some cultures, these tangles were believed to be a sign of good luck or a symbol of the animal's connection to the spirit world.

Despite their mythical origins, elflocks are a real phenomenon that can occur in any type of hair, although they are more common in curly or wavy hair. They are caused by the natural friction and tangling of individual strands, which can become more pronounced if the hair is not regularly brushed or combed. While they may be frustrating to untangle, elflocks are generally harmless and do not require any special treatment.
