What is ericads?

Ericads, also known as heaths, are a genus of shrubs within the family Ericaceae. They are native to regions with acidic soil, such as Europe and South Africa, but they are grown as ornamental plants in many parts of the world. Ericads have evergreen leaves that are often small and needle-like, with their flowers typically being tubular-shaped and often appearing in shades of pink, purple, and white. These plants prefer well-drained soil and require a slightly acidic pH range of 4.5-5.5. They are often used for landscaping in gardens, rockeries, or as container plants. Some popular species of ericads include Erica arborea, Erica carnea, and Erica cinerea.
