What is fajr?

Fajr, also known as the dawn prayer, is the first of the five daily prayers (salah) performed by Muslims. It is performed before sunrise and is considered one of the most important prayers in Islam.

Fajr prayer consists of two units (rakats) and is recited silently. The time for Fajr prayer starts at dawn and ends just before sunrise. It is recommended to perform Fajr prayer in congregation at the mosque, but it can also be performed individually.

Fajr prayer is a time for reflection, seeking forgiveness, and starting the day with a sense of devotion and gratitude towards Allah. It is believed that performing Fajr prayer regularly brings blessings and spiritual benefits to the individual.

Muslims are encouraged to wake up early in the morning to perform Fajr prayer and start their day with a sense of peace and mindfulness. It is considered a time of spiritual purification and connection with Allah.
