Friday Night Funkin' (often abbreviated as FNF) is a rhythm game developed by a team of four Newgrounds users: Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game was initially created for Ludum Dare 47 in October 2020 and quickly gained immense popularity for its unique art style, catchy music, and challenging gameplay.
The core gameplay revolves around the player, as the character Boyfriend, battling a variety of opponents through rhythmic music battles. The player must match the notes displayed on the screen by pressing the corresponding arrow keys in time with the music.
