Fordoche is a small village located in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, USA. As per the 2020 Census, the population of the village was approximately 889. The village covers an area of 1.9 square miles, out of which land occupies 1.8 square miles and water occupies 0.1 square miles.
Fordoche is primarily an agricultural-based community, with the majority of the residents engaged in farming, particularly sugarcane cultivation. The village has a few small businesses along the main highway, some churches, and a community park.
The village has a few historic sites, including the Fordoche School, which was built in the early 1900s in Neoclassical architecture style, and the Melancon House, a Creole-style house built in the late 1800s. Additionally, the village celebrates the annual Fordoche Fair, which takes place in November and showcases livestock, crafts, food, and other local products.
