What is freescale?

Freescale Semiconductor is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded processing solutions for the automotive, industrial, consumer, and aerospace and defense markets. The company was founded in 1949 as a spin-off of Motorola's semiconductor division and was known as Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector until it became Freescale Semiconductor in 2004.
