What is funorb?

FunOrb was a browser-based multiplayer online gaming website created by Jagex Games Studio, the company behind the popular MMORPG RuneScape. It was launched in 2008 and featured a variety of single-player and multiplayer games in a range of genres, including strategy, puzzle, and action games.

Some of the most popular games on FunOrb included Arcanists, a turn-based strategy game where players control wizards battling it out on a 2D grid, and Armies of Gielinor, a real-time strategy game set in the world of RuneScape.

FunOrb also offered a subscription-based service called FunOrb Club, which provided access to exclusive games and features, as well as additional content for existing games.

Despite its initial popularity, FunOrb was eventually discontinued in 2018, with Jagex citing the decline in player numbers and the increased focus on its flagship game, RuneScape, as reasons for its closure. Many of the games from FunOrb have since been made available on platforms like Steam.
