What is gerudo?

The Gerudo are a race of humanoid females found in the The Legend of Zelda series. They are known for their fierce warrior culture, distinctive red hair, and proficiency in combat, particularly with swords and bows.

  • Appearance: Gerudo are characterized by their tall stature, muscular build, red hair, golden eyes, and aquiline noses. They typically have darker skin tones.

  • History: In most The Legend of Zelda games, a male is born into the Gerudo tribe only once every hundred years. This male is destined to become their king. The most well-known Gerudo male is Ganondorf, the main antagonist of the series. Ganondorf's actions often place the Gerudo race in a negative light, though not all Gerudo are evil.
