What is google+?

Google+ was a social network operated by Google. It was launched in June 2011 and shut down for consumer (personal) accounts in April 2019 due to low usage and discovered software bugs that could have exposed private user data.

Key features of Google+ included:

  • Circles: A unique feature that allowed users to organize their contacts into different groups for sharing specific content. ( Circles)
  • Hangouts: Integrated video conferencing and messaging service that later evolved into a separate product. (Hangouts)
  • Streams: A newsfeed where users could share updates, photos, links, and videos with their circles. (Streams)
  • Google+ Communities: Groups for people with shared interests to connect and discuss various topics. (Google+%20Communities)

The platform aimed to integrate Google's various services and provide a more social experience across its ecosystem. Ultimately, it failed to gain widespread adoption and was discontinued.
