What is gorila?

Gorillas are the largest living primates and are native to sub-Saharan Africa. They are divided into two species: the eastern gorilla and the western gorilla, each with two subspecies.

Gorillas are highly intelligent animals with complex social structures. They live in groups called troops, which are led by a dominant male called a silverback. Females and their offspring make up the bulk of the troop.

Gorillas have a vegetarian diet, primarily consisting of leaves, stems, fruits, and sometimes insects. They have a muscular and massive build and are covered in a dark, coarse fur.

The Western gorilla is currently listed as critically endangered, while the Eastern gorilla is listed as endangered, due to habitat loss, disease, and poaching. Conservation efforts are being made to protect and increase gorilla populations in the wild.
