Hachaliah is a Hebrew name that appears in the Old Testament of the Bible. He was the father of Nehemiah, who was a Jewish leader in the Persian Empire in the 5th century BCE. Nehemiah is known for his role in rebuilding Jerusalem's walls and for leading the return of exiled Jews to their homeland. Hachaliah is believed to have been a member of the tribe of Judah and may have been a priest. Little else is known about him beyond his association with Nehemiah.
